A similar entry appears in the Wheel of Time Companion. Other information about the character is also included in the Companion, but we did not use it in the TarValon.Net Library.

General

Ayako Norsoni is Aes Sedai of the White Ajah. She is the only White among Elaida's expedition of fifty-one sisters led by Toveine Gazal to attack the Black Tower (WH, Prologue). Like the others, she is imprisoned and forcibly bonded to Donalo Sandomere, a Tairen Asha'man (KoD, Ch. 20). She sends a letter to her sisters in the White Tower describing the situation Elaida's embassy to the Black Tower is in (KoD, Prologue).

Ayako is described as diminutive and seemingly shy. She has black wavy waist-long hair and is "nearly as brown-skinned as a Domani" (KoD, Ch. 20).

After the fight with the Trollocs at Algarin's estate in Tear, she and Donalo help burning bodies. Nynaeve notices that many of the forcefully bonded Aes Sedai seem to get along pretty well with their Asha'man (KoD, Ch. 20). Ayako is among them (KoD, Ch. 27).

She is still part of Rand's embassy when he goes to meet the "Daughter of the Nine Moons", but she stays behind while Sandomere accompanies Rand and the others to the meeting (KoD, Ch. 27).

She is Turned to the Shadow, along with Donalo and the two are trapped in Stedding Sholoon by Androl and his allies (AMoL, Ch. 42).

Quotes

"And poor Ayako, who must be regretting that the Whites insisted on having a sister included." (Gabrelle; Winter's Heart, Prologue)
